White House looks to regulate cow flatulence as part of climate agenda

2:50 PM 03/28/2014 Michael Bastasch

As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Obama administration is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations.

This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990.

The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts

for about 9 percent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions — which is a very potent greenhouse gas.

Some of these methane emissions come from cow flatulence, exhaling and belching — other livestock animals release methane as well.

“Cows emit a massive amount of methane through belching, with a lesser amount through flatulence,” according to How Stuff Works. “Statistics vary regarding how much methane the average dairy cow expels. Some experts say 100 liters to 200 liters a day… while others say it’s up to 500 liters… a day. In any case, that’s a lot of methane, an amount comparable to the pollution produced by a car in a day.”

“Of all domestic animal types, beef and dairy cattle were by far the largest emitters of [methane],” according to an EPA analysis charting greenhouse gas emissions in 2012. Cows and other animals produce methane through digestion, which ferments the food of animals.

“During digestion, microbes resident in an animal’s digestive system

ferment food consumed by the animal,” the EPA notes. “This microbial fermentation process, referred to as enteric fermentation, produces [methane] as a byproduct, which can be exhaled or eructated by the animal.”

It’s not just the dairy industry that the Obama administration is clamping down on. The White House

is looking to regulate methane emissions across the economy from agriculture to oil and gas operations — all this despite methane emissions falling 11 percent since 1990.

Methane emissions have largely been reduced because of the incentive for companies

to capture it and sell it for monetary gain. Oil and gas companies, for example, have been looking for ways to increasingly capture methane leaked from drilling operations which they can then sell.

“The industry has led efforts to reduce emissions of methane by developing new technologies and equipment, and recent studies

show emissions are far lower than EPA projected just a few years ago,” said  Howard Feldman, head of scientific and regulatory affairs at  the American Petroleum Institute. “Additional regulations are not necessary and could have a chilling effect on the American energy renaissance, our economy, and our national security.”

“Methane is natural gas that operators can bring to the market

,” he added. “There is a built-in incentive to capture these emissions.”

Environmentalists have been pushing the Obama administration to crack down on methane emissions for some time, arguing that they drive global warming and pollute the air and water. Activists have argued that the methane leakage rate

from natural gas operations is 50 percent higher than the EPA estimates.

“President Obama’s plan to reduce climate-disrupting methane pollution is an important step in reining in an out of control industry exempt from too many public health protections,” Deborah Nardone, campaign director

of the Sierra Club’s Keeping Dirty Fuels in the Ground campaign. “However, even with the most rigorous methane controls and monitoring in place, we will still fall short of what is needed to fight climate disruption if we do not reduce our reliance on these dirty fossil fuels.”

Republicans and the oil and gas industry argue that the methane leakage rate has been estimated to be 50 times lower than the EPA’s estimate. The GOP argues that the EPA’s estimate is simply an attack on hydraulic fracturing, or fracking.

“The EPA has been on a witch hunt to shut down hydraulic fracturing, and yet again the evidence doesn’t back up their excessive claims,” said Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter. “All too often we see the Agency using flawed science for political purposes, but this report – partially funded by environmental activists no less – shows EPA’s emissions estimates from hydraulic fracturing are way off.”

Malaysia says there's sealed evidence on MH370 that cannot be made public

By The Straits Times China Bureau

BEIJING – A Malaysian team have told relatives of Chinese passengers on board the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 that there was sealed evidence that cannot be made public, as they came under fire from the angry relatives at a briefing on Wednesday.

The sealed evidence included air traffic control radio transcript, radar data and airport security recordings.

The briefing at the Metropark Lido Hotel in Beijing focused on UK satellite analysis which led Malaysia to conclude that flight MH370 ended in south Indian Ocean, off Perth.

The Chinese relatives were told that a five-member high-level team from Malaysia plans to brief them once every five days. The team include MAS pilot Lim Jit Koon and senior civil aviation official Ahmad Nizar Zolfakar.

During the question-and-answer session, a relative said: “Thanks for demonstrating your ability to read every word out of the powerpoint slides.”

Another asked: “If the info is from UK satellite firm Inmarsat, does it mean the Malaysia team cannot answer our questions on the MH370 analysis?”

Faced with the barrage of questions from the angry relatives, the MAS team replied: “We can answer but we might not be correct as we’re not the investigators”:

They said Malaysia had requested for the British experts to join them for the briefing in Beijing but the latter declined.

They assured the relatives that the search and rescue operations for the plane have been stepped up but the hunt has been challenging as the search area is huge.

The Malaysian government and MAS have been criticised for their handling of the disappearance of MH370 on March 8. They have been accused of being slow in disseminating information and not revealing everything about the incident.

Prime Minister Najib Razak said on Monday night that based on latest UK data analysis, the plane had gone down in a remote part of the southern Indian Ocean.

“We demand you retract announcement that MH370 ended in south Indian Ocean and continue search-and-rescue operations,” one relative said at the briefing.

Some family representatives targeted Malaysian envoy Iskandar Sarudin, asking him: “You expect us to accept a report you cannot defend?”

“No comment,” said Mr Iskandar.

He again declined to comment when asked “how do you expect us to feel friendly towards Malaysia?”

Upset by the response from the Malaysia team, a relative said: “You have once again left us speechless!”

Wednesday’s briefing was the first time the media were allowed to attend.

The relatives also accused MAS of not providing enough assistance to them.

“Two-thirds of MH370 passengers are Chinese but only 50 caregivers?” asked a relative.

An airline official explained that they have had problem finding volunteers to help out.

When asked why the MAS office at the hotel was closed on Tuesday, the MAS officials said they were advised by the Chinese government not to be there given the tense mood among the relatives.

FROM INTERNET TO UBERNET BY 2025

FROM INTERNET TO UBERNET BY 2025

By Bob Uniruh

In just one decade, the Internet will be a “seamless part of how we live our everyday lives,” according to a new report from the Pew Research Internet Project. Or it could be the means to a “very dystopian world that is also profoundly inegalitarian.” The possible scenarios were based on the prognostications of thousands of experts on science and the Web, including Joe Touch, director of the University of Southern California’s Information Sciences Institute. “The Internet will shift from the place we find cat videos to a background capability that will be a seamless part of how we live our everyday lives. We won’t think about ‘going online’ or ‘looking on the Internet’ for something – we’ll just be online, and just look,” he said. But another perspective comes from John Markoff, senior writer for the Science section of the New York Times.

“What happens the first time you answer the phone and hear from your mother or a close friend, but it’s actually not, and instead, it’s a piece of malware that is designed to social engineer you?” he asked.

“What kind of a world will we have crossed over into? I basically began as an Internet utopian (think John Perry Barlow), but I have since realized that the technical and social forces that have been unleashed by the microprocessor hold out the potential of a very dystopian world that is also profoundly inegalitarian. I often find myself thinking, ‘Who said it would get better?,’” said Markoff.

The report by Janna Anderson and Lee Rainie was done in conjunction with Elon University’s Imagining the Internet Center. It canvassed hundreds of experts about the future “of such things as privacy, cybersecurity, the ‘Internet of Things’ and net neutrality.” “In this case we asked experts to make their own predictions about the state of digital life by the year 2025,” the authors said. Striking patterns were found in the responses of nearly 2,600 experts and technology builders, they wrote.

“These experts foresee an ambient information environment where accessing the Internet will be effortless and most people will tap into it so easily it will flow through their lives ‘like electricity.’” The experts predict “mobile, wearable, and embedded computing will be tied together in the Internet of Things, allowing people and their surroundings to tap into artificial intelligence-enhanced cloud-based information storage and sharing.” The report cited Dan Lynch, founder of Interop and former director of computing facilities at SRI International, writing “the most useful impact is the ability to connect people.” “From that, everything flows,” Lynch writes.

Business models for finance, entertainment, publishing and education will be destroyed and rebuilt, and the “physical and social realms” will be mapped, the report said. “These experts expect existing positive and negative trends to extend and expand in the next decade, revolutionizing most human interaction, especially affecting health, education, work, politics, economics, and entertainment.” Most experts believe “the results of that connectivity will be primarily positive.”

“However, when asked to describe the good and bad aspects of the future they foresee, many of the experts can also clearly identify areas of concern, some of them extremely threatening. Heightened concerns over interpersonal ethics, surveillance, terror, and crime, may lead societies to question how best to establish security and trust while retaining civil liberties,” the report said. The responses grouped themselves into several categories, including eight that were “hopeful” and several that were thought to be “concerned.”

“Devices will more and more have their own patterns of communication, their own ‘social networks,’ which they use to share and aggregate information, and undertake automatic control and activation,” said David Clark, a senior research scientist at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab. “More and more, humans will be in a world in which decisions are being made by an active set of cooperating devices. The Internet (and computer-mediated communication in general) will become more pervasive but less explicit and visible. It will, to some extent, blend into the background of all we do.”

Several strongly hinted at increasing globalism.

“It will be a world more integrated than ever before. We will see more planetary friendships, rivalries, romances, work teams, study groups and collaborations,” wrote Bryan Alexander, senior fellow at the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education. More information, including details, will be handy, and that will result in a new view on life, said Judith Donath, a fellow at Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet and Societ

“We’ll have a picture of how someone has spent their time, the depth of their commitment to their hobbies, causes, friends, and family. This will change how we think about people, how we establish trust, how we negotiate change, failure, and success,” she said.

Data layers will be what filters a view of the world, said Daren Brabham, of the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at USC. “This will change a lot of social practices, such as dating, job interviewing and professional networking, and gaming, as well as policing and espionage.”

More uprisings, too, will develop because more people will be aware of what others have  regarding health care, water, education, food and human rights, said Nicole Ellison of the School of Information at Michigan.

Borders will disappear because they simply won’t matter.

The report said more than 7 billion “humans on this planet will sooner or later be ‘connected’ to each other and fixed destinations, via the Uber (not Inter) net.”

“When every person on this planet can reach, and communicate two-way, with every other person on this planet, the power of nation-states to control every human inside its geographic boundaries may start to diminish,” said David Hughes, an Internet pioneer.

Networks will network with networks, and Hal Varian, chief economist for Google, said there will be universal access to all human knowledge. But Llewellyn Kriel, CEO of TopEditor International Media Services, noted that access to knowledge and information isn’t always good.

“Everything – every thing – will be available online with price tags attached. Cyber-terrorism will become commonplace. Privacy and confidentiality of any and all personal will become a thing of the past. Online ‘diseases’ – mental, physical, social, addictions (psycho-cyber drugs) – will affect families and communities and spread willy-nilly across borders. The digital divide will grow and worsen beyond the control of nations or global organizations such as the U.N. This will increasingly polarize the planet between haves and have-nots. Global companies will exploit this polarization. Digital criminal networks will become realities of the new frontiers. Terrorism, both by organizations and individuals, will be daily realities. The world will become less and less safe, and only personal skills and insights will protect individuals,” he said.

Big Brother can’t be far behind then.

“Governments will become much more effective in using the Internet as an instrument of political and social control. That is, filters will be increasingly valuable and important, and effective and useful filters will be able to charge for their services. People will be more than happy to trade the free-wheeling aspect common to many Internet sites for more structured and regulated environments,” suggested Paul Babbitt, an associate professor at Southern Arkansas University.

Eventually, it will push some people beyond the boundaries of reality, said Bob Briscoe, chief researcher in networking for British Telecom.

“More people will lose their grounding in the realities of life and work, instead considering those aspects of the world amenable to expression as information as if they were the whole world,” he said. “Given there is strong evidence that people are much more willing to commit petty crimes against people and organizations when they have no face-to-face interaction, the increasing proportion of human interactions mediated by the Internet will continue the trend toward less respect and less integrity in our relations.”

Marc Rotenberg, of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, said: “I hope there will be greater openness, more democratic participation, less centralized control, and greater freedom. But there is nothing predetermined about that outcome. Economic and political forces in the United States are pulling in the opposite direction. So, we are left with a central challenge: will the Internet of 2025 be – a network of freedom and opportunity or the infrastructure of social control?”

Ron Paul: 'We're in a Revolutionary Stage'

Ron Paul: ‘We’re in a Revolutionary Stage’

March 20, 2014 – 8:18 AM

CNSNews.com) – As government gets bigger, it strays further from its central mission of protecting Americans’ liberty, former Texas congressman and presidential hopeful Ron Paul told Fox News’s Neil Cavuto on Wednesday.

“[E]ventually, we will have to wake up and decide what the role of government ought to be in this country,” Paul said. Right now, he said the government uses the excuse of “fairness” or “safety” to take care of people — believing that “people aren’t smart enough to do this.

“So, we have accepted as a nation a role for government which was never intended by our Constitution and was never intended in a free society. So, in a way, we’re in a revolutionary stage,” Paul said.

“We either have to change that (the role of government) or we’re going to continue to go downhill. This is one of the reasons why the economy is in stagnation, because nobody is giving up on the status quo. How many bureaus or agencies of government ever get truly repealed? No, it’s a continuing expansion and dependency.

“And now people think they have a right to all this. They don’t think that, you know, you and I might be paying taxes and, therefore, they are getting some temporary benefits, and thank you. They have an absolute right, a demand. A need becomes a right. And really in a free society, you have a right to your life and you ought to have the right to keep the fruits of (your) labor.”

Despite “the mess that we have created,” Paul said he still holds out hope that a younger generation “will come along and say, hey look, we can’t depend on the government to take care of us, and we don’t need all this mischief overseas. So, we need something new and different.”

Paul said his message of limited government and individual liberty resonates with these young people who have worked hard, graduated from college, borrowed a lot of money, and now can’t find a job.

“I think they’re open,” he said.

Missing jet WAS carrying highly flammable lithium batteries CEO of Malaysian Airlines finally admits to dangerous cargo four days after DENYING it!

By SIMON TOMLINSON PUBLISHED: 12:11 EST, 21 March 2014 | UPDATED: 16:28 EST, 21 March 2014

  • When asked days ago, he said it was carrying ‘tonnes of mangosteens’
  • Lithium-ion batteries have caused 140 mid-air incidents in last 20 years
  • The devices are commonly used in mobile phones and laptops
  • Classed as dangerous by The International Civil Aviation Organisation
  • Reignites theory that missing flight may have crashed after on-board fire
  • Aviation expert said it re-affirm belief that flames started in cargo hold
  • One cargo plane crashed in 2010 after attempting an emergency landing
  • Safety report said battery caught fire and filled the flight deck with smoke
  •  highly flammable lithium batteries

Malaysian Airlines today confirmed that flight MH370 had been carrying highly flammable lithium-ion batteries in its cargo hold, re-igniting speculation that a fire may have caused its disappearance.

The admission by CEO Ahmad Jauhari comes four days after he denied the aircraft was carrying any dangerous items and nearly two weeks after the plane went missing.

He said the authorities were investigating the cargo, but did not regard the batteries as hazardous – despite the law dictating they are classed as such – because they were packaged according to safety regulations.

The revelation has thrown the spotlight back on the theory that the Boeing 777 may have been overcome by a fire, rendering the crew and passengers unconscious after inhaling toxic fumes.

Lithium-ion batteries – which are used in mobile phones and laptops – have been responsible for a number of fires on planes and have even brought aircraft down in recent years.article-2586308-1C44BC1D00000578-537_634x430

Malaysian Airlines today confirmed that missing MH370 (pictured on an earlier flight) had been carrying highly flammable lithium-ion batteries in its cargo hold four days after denying it had any dangerous goods on board, highly flammable lithium batteriesarticle-2586308-053299080000044D-451_634x319

According to US-based Federal Aviation Administration, lithium-ion batteries carried in the cargo or baggage have been responsible for more than 140 incidents between March 1991 and February 17 this year, it was reported by Malaysiakini.

In rare cases, aircraft have been destroyed as a result of fires started from the devices, although they have been cargo planes in both incidents.

In one case, UPS Airlines Flight 6 crashed while attempting an emergency landing in September 2010 en route from Dubai to Cologne in Germany.

Flight MH370 disappeared from radar screens two weeks ago on March 8 after taking off from Kuala Lumpur bound for Beijing.

The second day of a new search, concentrating on a desolate area in the southern Indian Ocean, failed to locate two possible pieces of debris from the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777.

Aircraft and ships scoured the seas around 2,500kilometres off the coast of the Australian city of Perth, for 10 hours before darkness fell. Australian officials have vowed to continue the search tomorrow.

Billie Vincent, the former head of security for the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, said the revelation re-affirmed his belief that flames started in the cargo hold, destroying the aircraft’s communication systems then filling the cabin with toxic fumes.

This, he says, would have overwhelmed the passengers but may have given the pilots a chance to divert the aircraft for an emergency landing.

He told Air Traffic Management: ‘The data released thus far most likely points to a problem with hazardous materials.

‘This scenario begins with the eruption of hazardous materials within the cargo hold – either improperly packaged or illegally shipped – or both.’

It is thought the missing plane climbed to 45,000ft – a move Mr Vincent believes may have resulted from the pilots not being able to see the controls properly

The Malaysian Airliner is not missing and much more

Posted on March 16, 2014 by  in Dick ClippingsPolitics

March 14, 2014  12:14 PM EDT

The Malaysian airplane is not missing.  It is exactly where somebody has designed it to be. Also, with regard to the 80,000 Russian troops poised to invade Ukraine and with NATO moving forces into Norway, there is a war that could break out any day.

By Dave Hodges

(INTELLIHUB) — The coming world war is totally unnecessary. It will be fought with weapons and technology that is outdated by over a hundred years. The United States government has the ability to negate ANY Russian or Chinese weapon.

These two events and many world events are part of a grand theater which is being played out in order to create maximum chaos from which the New World Order will be rolled out. And this is all preventable because we have unimaginable technologies which could solve the problems that wars cannot.

How do I know what technologies are available to our government? I don’t, but my father did and this is a brief revelation of his work and why it matters to all of us.

Family Secrets

I am going to write about and partially reveal something that I have had knowledge of for over 30 years. If I would have revealed what I knew my father was working on while he was in the navy and immediately after his retirement, he would have gone to prison for life and my mother would have lost my father’s navy pension following his death. Now that both of my parents are deceased, it is time that the truth came out because it has a direct bearing on both the missing Malaysian airliner and the potential world war that Russia and NATO are preparing to fight. This would be a much easier article to write if it were about another family instead of my own because I detest bringing attention to my family.

A Chance Encounter

My wife and I were having lunch at a restaurant yesterday  and she was asking me what I thought was behind the missing Malaysian airliner. I told her that I could not be certain, but that our NSA and CIA knows exactly what happened to that plane and where it happened. Strangely, there was a man sitting in the booth behind us who leaned over and said “I could not help overhearing what you were talking about. I used to work for DARPA before retiring and madam your husband is correct. There is nothing that we could not monitor and that includes ships, planes, automobiles and people. We have technology that the public will not know about for  at least a 100 years.” Although he did not elaborate, I knew exactly what he was talking about.

This chance encounter reminded me how much I hate the deception that comes out of our government on a daily basis. We have the technology to do incredible good. We can reverse droughts, defend against all of our enemies weapons and we can even reverse the aging process. Yes, the super elite on this planet have decided to withhold most technological advances from the people so that we can continue to play out the old worn out game of one side going to war with the other, etc. It is all about control, manipulation and mass murder and I am sick of it. I understand why whistleblowers do what they do because they get so disgusted that they cannot take it anymore. I understand it because I am about to engage in it for the same reasons.

Child’s Play

I mourn for the dead 239 missing passengers of the missing plane. And yes, they are undoubtedly dead. I have long known that our intelligence agencies, and probably the FSB and Mossad as well, have the ability to track every ship, airplane, every automobile and person in the world. Be warned that every conversation that you have, not just electronic, is monitored by a computer. There are no secrets. The ability to track any person of interest has existed for a long time. This is why some of us knew that the hunt for Osama Bin Laden was a joke designed to milk the cash cow that had become the war on terror for as long as possible. Therefore, there is no way that our intelligence agencies could not know what happened to the plane that has captured the attention of the media.

Originally, I remained quiet on the subject of the missing airliner because I thought it was a possibility that our government was going to launch a rescue mission because the plane had been hijacked and we were playing dumb in order to save these people. I had to remind myself that placing any kind of faith in this banker-hijacked government is naive at best. Any window of any rescue closed a few days ago. I do not know why this plane was brought down, although I suspect it was done to prevent a technology transfer to the Russians, but I do know that our government knows what happened and who did it. Now, to the point of the article.

Unrevealed Technology

My father did two tours of duty on the carrier, Roosevelt, before retiring from the Navy. In the 1980′s, my father was dying of mesothelioma as a result of being on ships with unabated asbestos. The Roosevelt was such a ship. In the last two years of his life, I visited my father on a nightly basis. It was in these conversations that I learned what my father had been involved in as a result of his work on the Roosevelt and his subsequent work at Martin Marietta which included work with former NAZI scientists as well as one Russian missile expert who had defected at the height of the cold war.

My father was one of the people who rewired the Combat Information Center on the carrier Roosevelt in order to accept the first nuclear weapons aboard a navy ship. Much of the work was done as the ship sailed around Cape Horn located at the southern tip of South America. They did so to escape detection from the Soviets. Later, my father was called back to the ship to make more adjustments  to the Combat Information Center, in his second tour on the carrier. This was a highly secure and top-secret project and nothing at that time was revealed to our family until my father told me 20 years later.

The Navy early retired my father six months before his actual retirement date and sent him to work at Martin Marietta in the mountains outside of Littleton, Colorado. My family was only told that dad was working on missiles. The truth, as he revealed to me in our nightly conversations, from 1983 to 1985, was that he was working with NAZI scientists on developing technologies which had been on their drawing board, but  had not yet developed. Most know of Operation Paper Clip which reverse engineered NAZI technology into our military. However, what my father worked on was the theoretical aspect of what was planned but not yet manufactured.

As my father described, the project was highly compartmentalized and was first overseen by the Office of Naval Intelligence. Later, the CIA wrestled control away and took a very hands on approach. As my father’s responsibilities increased, he developed more awareness of the totality and purpose of the project. He surmised that he was working on a secret military space program complete with an independent weapons system and single craft capable of achieving orbit without the use of a booster rocket. Although my father never received direct confirmation, has been convinced that he was working in a militarized space program which was totally separate from NASA since none of the fruits of his labor ever ended up at the “civilian space agency”. NASA is no more than a cover for what our government has been working on for over 60 years. Why, at the heart of the cold war, would our government not be militarizing space? Of course we were militarizing space and it does not make sense to believe anything else. He told me that the technology that he worked on was an estimated 100-300 years ahead of anything that we had at that time.

Interestingly, my father was a fan of the TV show, Star Trek, created by Gene Roddenberry because he knew that the technology portrayed on the show had already been developed. He told me he was baffled as to why Roddenberry would be allowed to display the technology in such an open matter.

It was revealed to me that we had deep space platforms armed with weapons which could strike anywhere on the face of the planet and beyond. After my father left Martin Marietta, now known as Lockheed Martin, he went to work at Sundstrand Electric in Westminster, Colorado.  While at Sundstrand, he met the late Bill Pawelec, a CIA contract agent.  Bill Pawelec will eventually meet and become the significant other of my present News Director of The Common Sense Show, Annie DeRiso.  Both men performed work on developing a high-tech surveillance system for use on the deep space platforms.

My father had warned me I could never publicly speak about these events until after both he and my mother had passed away. My father had signed a national security oath in which he waived all due process rights for any violation of his oath. Any violation would have been met with immediate incarceration to Leavenworth, with hard labor and all financial assets would be forfeited. My father passed away in 1985, but I could not say anything because my mother was receiving his Navy pension. I moved to Arizona three months later and filed away this knowledge and pursued my career interests.

The Art Bell Connection

In 1993, I was listening to the Art Bell show for the first time and Art was interviewing Vance Davis, formerly of the NSA. Vance said some things in the interview that made me think he might have known my father. I tried contacting Vance and left a message and provided the reason why I was contacting him. The next day, both Vance and Bill Pawelec contacted me. I developed a friendship with both men. And from Bill Pawelec, I learned even more about the work my father had done at Sundstrand. Privately, I confided in Bill and Vance and told them some of what I knew. Ten years later, through a meeting set up by Bill Pawelec, I had a clandestine meeting about these matters with noted author, Jim Marrs at the airport in Phoenix, in which I told Jim some of what I knew and he said it confirmed much of what he already knew on these topics. As a result of this meeting, I developed a relationship with Jim as he has been a guest on my talk show over a dozen times.

I still maintained a very low profile  until the forces of Senator John McCain and the CAFTA/CANAMEX Corridor group wanted to force myself and my 300 rural neighbors off of our land without any compensation. As a result of my fighting against McCain’s forces in the media, the late Pete Peterson gave me a position  as a talk show host on Sunday afternoons in Wickenburg, AZ. A couple of years later, John Stadtmiller offered me a similar position with the Republic Broadcasting Network. I was one upset person and went to war with the elite on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, I still could not reveal all that I knew because my mother was still alive.

My mother passed away three years ago and I was subsequently free to reveal what I knew, but I chose not to because I was engaged in the fight  against the NWO on multiple fronts and did not feel the need to do so, until now.

I can accurately state that we possess the technology to stop all attacks upon the United States or any other area that we choose. What the public was told about with Reagan’s SDI program was a deceptive lie. The MX missile system, for example, was a very expensive disinformation ruse. During the Reagan years, we already had developed technology that most would recognize as being part of HAARP which could, for example, knock down all incoming ICBM’s using HAARP based, localized EMP type of technology, combined with the technology located on the deep space platforms. This war that we are getting ready to fight, is going to be fought with sticks and stones compared to what is available. Subsequently, all of this saber-rattling and subsequent mass murder which is about to take place, is totally unnecessary.

Millions are needlessly going to die and if the conflict goes nuclear, billions will die. And this is all in the name of a few elite gaining more control so they can live out some preplanned fantasy for control of the planet.

How Advanced Is the Hidden Technology?

The short answer to the question in the subtitle is that I do not know. My information is based on events which happened in the late 1950′s to the mid 1960′s. What I do know is that only a very few know what I know. Only God and a few corrupt people know how far this technology has evolved. This is why I have no trouble believing Steve Quayle’s new book, Exogenesis, about transhumanism and the complete morphing of the human race.

With the suppressed technology,  all drought and famine on the planet could end. Do you remember the old 1952 classic movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still, in which a race of aliens had the ability to stop all war in the universe? We have the power to stop all war on the planet today and have had this technology for some time. Do you understand what I am saying, all war could be ended. We could be traveling to the stars and harnessing vast resources. It is highly likely that our military went to the moon long before Neil Armstrong given what I know about the technology which existed in 1960. However, the elite are not going to relinquish control and allow mankind to become what he was intended to become. Therefore, the technology is going to continue to be withheld and man’s suffering will continue as it has for some time. Given what JFK said in his Secret Societies speech, he knew what I am revealing as well and was not on board with the games being played.

What Is a Poor Christian To Do?

Now it should begin to make sense why I have advocated for not being in the banking system controlled by the whoremongers and warmongers.  I have also encouraged people to shop locally and stay out of the corporate entities. Turn off your TV and read a book, the Bible would be a great place to start. What did Jesus say about being in the world and not of the world? It still might be possible to collapse the corrupt system from  the inside-out and begin anew. However, that ship has already sailed and I am sure it is too late.

Conclusion

Annie DeRiso and few of my close friends have been discussing if and when and how completely I should bring out what I know. Since the passing of my mother, I have often considered what I should do. Some have advised me to keep quiet because of the loss of credibility. I personally could care less about this possibility. I don’t know how much longer I am going to continue to write and broadcast. I have other things in life that I am missing out on and I grow weary of trying to arouse a public which is content to watch Dancing with the Stars instead of fighting back against the evil on this planet. As a former mental health professional, I learned that I cannot care more about clients than they care about themselves. There is a lesson to be learned from that experience regarding the multitude of sheep that inhabit our country.

I am well aware of the criticism that will follow this article and truthfully, I could care less. Since beginning broadcasting  seven years ago, I have heard allegations wondering where I came from and am I government troll and why did I just suddenly appear from nowhere? Annie DeRiso tells me that people ask her that question a lot. I have been awake for a very long time and I grow weary of the satanic evil that inhabits this planet along with the lack of intelligence and courage displayed by the masses.

What I do know is that this coming war is not needed and many of our kids are going to die. I am damn sure that the intelligence agencies knows how those 239 airline passengers died. You see, it is all a game that works because we choose to remain ignorant of the truth.

It was time to get mad about the state of the world a long time ago. A good time would have been when Jesus drove the money changers from the Temple. Now, we are going to pay the price for our disobedience to God and our absolute ignorance. I sincerely mean this when I say, may God have mercy on our souls. You would be well-advised to focus on adaptation and survival. Take the time to enjoy life while you still can, you may not get a second chance. Just remember that all of what is happening is totally unnecessary.

Obama's March 6 Executive Order:
Dictatorship for War

Obama’s March 6 Executive Order:
Dictatorship for War

by Jeffrey Steinberg

March 9—With President Obama’s declaration last week of a National Emergency as the result of the ongoing Ukraine crisis, the President has moved one giant step closer to declaring an outright dictatorship over the United States. Obama has put himself in a state of “pre-impeachment,” declared Lyndon LaRouche on March 6.

His actions also moved the world precariously closer to a military confrontation between the United States and Russia that could lead to thermonuclear World War III. The biggest obstacle to war prevention, LaRouche further warned in discussion with colleagues on March 8, is the cowardice and Wall Street-induced corruption of the U.S. Congress, which is the main obstacle to Obama’s immediate removal from office via impeachment or by invoking the 25th Amendment.

In a brief press statement late last week, Obama announced that the Ukraine crisis posed a direct threat to the national security of the United States, and for that reason, he was invoking a National Emergency via Executive Order. In that brief statement, and the Order that accompanied it, the President violated the law by failing to present any findings of fact backing his declaration of emergency.

According to senior U.S. intelligence sources, the Joint Chiefs of Staff had delivered their own recommendations and findings to the President and the National Security Council earlier last week, concluding that the U.S. did not have any direct strategic interests in the Crimean region of Ukraine, but that the Russians certainly did. The Chiefs noted that the United States had treaty obligations to NATO allies, but that Ukraine is not a NATO member. Russia has vital strategic interests in the Crimea, centered on its Black Sea Fleet base at Sevastopol, which is leased to Russia for the next 30 years, under a 1990s treaty with Ukraine. Sevastopol and the Black Sea are Russia’s only access to the Mediterranean.

JCS Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey reiterated the Pentagon’s view in a lengthy interview March 7 with PBS NewsHour. Dempsey emphasized that the Ukraine dispute must be resolved diplomatically, candidly warning, in response to a question from Judy Woodruff, that the crisis could lead to war. Sources have emphasized that, for the Pentagon, cooperation with Russia is vital to the planned U.S. and NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan this year. Forty percent of the troop and equipment withdrawal is conducted along the “northern route” through Central Asia and Russia. There are other vital areas of cooperation, including the ongoing P5+1 negotiations with Iran, the war on drugs and terrorism, and the Syrian and North Korean situations, which require Russian-American cooperation.

Despite all of this, President Obama went ahead with his unconstitutional, dictatorial measure to declare the national emergency. This action by the President is consistent with his declaration, during his State of the Union address in late January, that he will rule by decree and Executive Order, even in situations where Congress has exclusive Constitutional authority. He has made good on his pledge to rip up the Constitution repeatedly since then, including in his re-writing of his signature Obamacare legislation without going to Congress.

Impeachment Mooted

Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Tex.) walked out of Obama’s State of the Union address and told reporters afterwards that he is considering filing impeachment articles against the President for his flagrant violation of the Constitution. On Capitol Hill, there are a half-dozen other Members who have made similar statements and threats over President Obama’s repeated illegal actions, including the Libya war, the domestic warrantless spying on Americans, and his ongoing program to assassinate American citizens without due process.

In the past week, the President has not only upped the ante in Ukraine by threatening sanctions against the Russian government, sanctions which were actually incorporated into his Executive Order declaring a national emergency (without naming any specific Russian officials or economic actions). American warships have been ordered into the Black Sea, and American fighter planes have been dispatched to Eastern European NATO member-states as a further show of force/provocation against Moscow. It is well known that personal relations between Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin have hit rock-bottom in recent months, with Obama boycotting the opening ceremony at the Sochi Winter Olympics, and now cancelling all bilateral diplomatic and military meetings.

In his PBS-TV interview, General Dempsey made clear that, despite the formal cancellations, he is maintaining daily communications with his Russian counterpart, Gen. Valery Gerasimov, to assure that the focus remains on a diplomatic solution and war avoidance. This has been the consistent approach of the JCS, including on the Iran negotiations. According to Congressional sources, Dempsey and the head of the Central Command, Gen. Lloyd Austin, played a pivotal role in convincing the U.S. Senate to delay voting on new sanctions on Iran—sanctions that would have sabotaged the ongoing P5+1 talks and led, almost inevitably, to costly and deadly military conflict with Iran.

As LaRouche has repeatedly warned, no sane American President would be playing nuclear chicken games with Moscow at this time. But Obama is personally a tool of Wall Street and City of London oligarchical circles who are desperate over the irreversible and imminent bankruptcy of their global financial system, and who are intent on looting the still economically viable regions of Eurasia. For the financial oligarchy, the splitting of Ukraine from Russia has been a 20-year project, which has now reached the moment of showdown. The imperial bankers are willing to run the risk of global thermonuclear extinction, rather than lose their power over global finance. This British willingness to bring the world to the point of thermonuclear showdown is predicated on the “credible” threat posed by the U.S. nuclear arsenal. And that is contingent on Obama remaining in office as their pliable pawn.

In the past week, LaRouche has been featured on four occasions on Russian nationwide news programs, delivering his warnings about the neo-Nazi character of Ukraine coup and the danger of thermonuclear extinction. By prominently featuring LaRouche—the leading proponent of Obama’s impeachment and the reinstatement of Glass Steagall—the Russians are making clear that they are not going to back down to Obama’s and London’s threats.

In addition to the prominent featuring of LaRouche in the Russian media, the Russian international news outlet RT has featured new evidence that the entire regime-change project in Ukraine was illegal and was dominated by Western-financed neo-Nazi circles that are the direct offspring of World War II-era war criminals from the Stepan Bandera armed movement of Hitler collaborators. Last week, RT aired the audio tape of a conversation between EU Foreign Secretary Catherine Ashton and Estonian Foreign Minister Umas Paet on Feb. 26, in which Paet told Ashton that it was the Maidan protesters, not the Yanukovych government, who fired sniper shots, killing both demonstrators and police, that set off the armed insurrection leading to Yanukovych’s ouster and the formation of a rump regime dominated by neo-Nazi groups, including the Right Sector and Svoboda.

The Maidan killings were conducted to sabotage the signed agreement between Yanukovych and the three opposition party leaders, and the foreign ministers of France, Germany, and Poland, aimed at ending the showdown in Kiev with early elections, constitutional changes, and other measures to bring the crisis to an end.

While the Ashton-Paet tape has been widely reported in the Russian media, as well as by some European news outlets, the damning revelations have been covered up by the U.S. establishment media, allowing Obama to continue to focus attention on the Russian actions in the Crimea, ignoring the fact that the EU and the Obama Administration have backed a neo-Nazi coup on Russia’s border.

Both Russia and China are viewing the events in Ukraine as indicative of a larger Western plan for strategic encirclement and regime change in Moscow and Beijing, further driving the world towards war of extinction.

As the trans-Atlantic financial system moves ever closer to a moment of total blowout, the desperation of the London-Wall Street nexus grows, and serves to further underscore that, only by removing Obama from office and reinstating Glass-Steagall—an action that would instantly bankrupt the Anglo-Dutch-Wall Street oligarchy—can war be prevented. Without the pressure on Congress from the Wall Street banksters, Members of Congress could be expected to rise above their current paralysis and move directly for impeachment.

Recent comments of Russian National Railway Corporation head Vladimir Yakunin to Russian news media indicate that the Russians are well aware of this possibility. Yakunin identified the source of the crisis in Ukraine as an “international oligarchy” which is hell-bent on confrontation.

Obama’s ouster pulls the plug on that oligarchy and is the key to mankind’s survival past the coming days and weeks.

BREAKING — FBI Quietly Opens Files Proving HITLER WENT TO ARGENTINA

Posted on March 8, 2014 by  in Dick Clippings

BREAKING — FBI Quietly Opens Files Proving HITLER WENT TO ARGENTINA. (by R&S, Exposing the Realities) — Newly declassified FBI documents prove that the government knew Hitler was alive and well, and living in the Andes Mountains long after World War II.

On April 30 1945, Adolf Hitler committed suicide in his underground bunker. His body was later discovered and identified by the Soviets before being rushed back to Russia. Is it really possible that the Soviets have been lying all this time, and that history has purposely been rewritten?

No one thought so until the release of the FBI documents. It seems that it is possible that the most hated man in history escaped war torn Germany and lived a bucolic and peaceful life in the beautiful foothills of the Andes Mountains.

THE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY KNEW.

hitler

Recently released FBI documents are beginning to show that not only was Hitler and Eva Braun’s suicide faked, the infamous pair might have had help from the director of the OSS himself, Allen Dulles.

In one FBI document from Los Angles, it is revealed that the agency was well aware of a mysterious submarine making its way up the Argentinian coast dropping off high level Nazi officials. What is even more astonishing is the fact that the FBI knew he was in fact living in the foothills of the Andes.

WHO IS THE MYSTERIOUS INFORMANT?

In a Los Angeles letter to the Bureau in August of 1945, an unidentified informant agreed to exchange information for political asylum. What he told agents was stunning.

The informant not only knew Hitler was in Argentina, he was one of the confirmed four men who had met the German submarine. Apparently, two submarines had landed on the Argentinian coast, and Hitler with Eva Braun was on board the second.

The Argentinian government not only welcomed the former German dictator, but also aided in his hiding. The informant went on to not only give detailed directions to the villages that Hitler and his party had passed through, but also credible physical details concerning Hitler.

While for obvious reasons the informant is never named in the FBI papers, he was credible enough to be believed by some agents.

The FBI Tried to Hide Hitler’s Whereabouts.

Even with a detailed physical description and directions the FBI still did not follow up on these new leads. Even with evidence placing the German sub U-530 on the Argentinian coast shortly before finally surrounding, and plenty of eye witness accounts of German official being dropped off, no one investigated.

Pollution from oilsands greater than first believed, new research suggests

Posted on March 5, 2014 by  in Dick Clippings

BY MARTY KLINKENBERG, EDMONTON JOURNAL FEBRUARY 3, 2014

EDMONTON – A new study released Monday suggests environmental assessments of oilsands projects have underestimated the impact of pollution, raising questions about the accuracy of data used as part of the approval process. Despite taking into account emissions from industry-related activities, researchers from the University of Toronto found estimates in environmental impact statements submitted to regulators were insufficient to explain existing contamination levels in northern Alberta.

“Our study shows emissions of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons estimated in environmental impact statements conducted to approve developments in the oilsands region are likely too low,” a summary document reads. “This finding implies that environmental concentrations estimated using those emissions may also be too low.

“The potential therefore exists that estimation of future risk to humans and wildlife because of surface mining in the region has been underestimated.” Conducted in 2012 and 2013, the research found inconsistencies between recorded emissions and predictions of environmental impacts compiled by consulting companies and listed on the Canadian government’s National Pollutant Release Inventory.

“The main finding is that we need a better accounting of the release of toxic substances in the oilsands region,” said Frank Wania, a professor of environmental chemistry who presided over the study. “Certainly, there is a shortcoming.” Examining the reported level of emissions, Wania and his team concluded that other significant sources of contamination need to be considered, including toxins from tailings ponds that are spread as they evaporate into the air.

The amount of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons or PAHs that oilsands’ operators dispose in tailings ponds is five times greater than those measured in direct air emissions, the study says, leading researchers to conclude evaporation from containment ponds is a likely source. “The results of simulations reaffirm that emissions estimates that take into account only direct emissions to the air do not appear to be adequate representations of actual emissions in the region,” the report says. “Furthermore, indirect emissions from secondary sources to the atmosphere, such as tailings ponds, may be a more significant contributor of oilsands PAHs than direct emissions to air.”

The study recommends new methods be implemented to estimate emissions of contaminants from other sources during environmental assessments of energy projects. “A comprehensive picture of organic containment sources and pathways in the oilsands region has yet to be elucidated,” the document says. “Our results highlight the need for improved accounting of PAH emissions from oilsands operations, especially in light of continued expansion.” Wania said monitoring is improving through a joint Canada-Alberta effort, but that more work has to be done. “Evaporation from the tailings ponds is one of the possible pathways that hasn’t been looked at in the context of emissions,” he said. Kevin Zahara, spokesman for Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development, said the department needs time to analyze the report.

“We rigorously monitor oilsands emissions and set strict emission standards as a part of the approval for any operation,” Zahara said. “Managing Alberta’s environment is not just one policy in isolation, we take a holistic approach which balances environmental protection with economic development, more than what any other jurisdiction is doing.” Simon Dyer, director of Alberta and the north for the Pembina Institute, said the study raises a number of issues.

“Decision-makers need to (consider) this information in determining if it is appropriate to approve new projects,” he said. “Regulatory submissions already show that planned production will exceed legal limits for pollutants which means approvals must be slowed or better technologies implemented.”

Propane Exports Put Crunch on Domestic Users, Americans Scramble for Propane Amid High Prices and Bitter Cold

Propane Exports Put Crunch on Domestic Users Propane Shortages in U.S. yeah right!

I rarely have a TV on, was at the dinner table with my wife. She had CBS Evening News on,  A stopr about Propane Shortage caught my attention. Well started researching the topic. What a shock…. this is some of what has me wondering. Propane prices went from about $1.80 per gallon last year to almost $5.00 per gallon this year and massive shortages here in the U.S. Yet exports far exceed domestic use. This seems to be a man made shortage. Much like the Gas shortages in the U.S. in mid seventy’s. I was living in Europe then and there was NO SHORTAGE. In tghe CBS news cast there was a pig farmer, lasts years heating fuel was $2,000 per month where as this year is over $8,000 per month. He stated that his home heat settings were at 65 and his barn was set at 69. Cold pigs are skinny pigs. Herein the U.S. there is a shortage of Propane, however there is more being exported due to the higher prices, than is allotted for use in the U.S. Seems profit is more important than American need.

UPDATE 2-As U.S. states scramble for propane, exports remain high

exports By Julia Edwards and Robert Gibbons Jan 30 (Reuters) – U.S Northern and Midwestern states called on Thursday for new ways to ease a supply crunch of the heating fuel propane during the second week of a bitter freeze, in a sign the shortages are expected to continue into next month. While millions suffer from the supply squeeze and sky-high prices, government data showed the fuel was being exported at historically high levels going into the winter, and analysts say the pace of sales abroad continued in November and January. On Thursday, states called for cash to be released to hard-hit consumers, waivers on road restrictions to be extended and warned propane suppliers from taking advantage of the situation by price gouging. Trucks have rushed to the propane storage facility in Mont Belvieu, Texas, only to find a two-day wait to stock up, suppliers and traders said. Nevertheless, Texas stock has been plugging the gaps in supply as far north as Minnesota. Six governors from Upper Midwestern states spoke on the telephone to their Texan counterpart, Rick Perry, and asked him to extend a waiver on trucking restrictions, which runs out next Wednesday. “I told Governor Perry how important his previous wavier had been to Minnesotans, who are suffering severely from this propane crisis. He very graciously agreed to extend the waiver when it expires next week,” Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton said in a statement issued after the telephone call. Governors from Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, Indiana and Ohio took part in the call, the governor’s office said. Benchmark propane prices for fuel heading towards the Midwest more than doubled since the start of the year to just shy of $5 a gallon last week. On Thursday, they swapped hands for as much as $3.50, but then slipped to $2.45, traders said. Residents of states such as Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa paid more than $4.50 a gallon on Monday compared with $1.90-$2.30, according to Energy Information Administration data. Such price spikes caused Democrats in Oklahoma on Thursday to call for state funding for consumers. “Rural Oklahomans rely on propane to warm their homes and support their livelihoods,” Oklahoma Democrat James Lockhart, said. “This is about survival for them. We have been diligent in putting away state funds for emergencies, and I can assure you that our low-income citizens and the elderly believe this propane shortage is an emergency.” Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker released $8.5 million for households and ordered another $8 million in loan guarantees for propane suppliers having difficulties sourcing the fuel. Michigan said it wants an extension of a waiver allowing truckers to drive longer until Feb. 11, another sign that the shortage there at least, could last for another week or so.   RECORD PRE-WINTER EXPORTS Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz described the shortages as the result of a “perfect storm” – unusually high demand to dry out corn crops came after a later-than-normal harvest with no break to stock up before the onset of the freezing winter. He said the Department of Energy has some authority to prioritize how propane is shipped and it is also in touch with other state departments to find ways to ease the shortage. But propane organizations and suppliers say record-high exports contributed towards the crisis because they depleted inventories just ahead of winter. Stocks in the Midwest are at record lows for this time of the year, EIA data shows. Data from the Energy Information Administration issued on Thursday showed that, coming into the winter, propane exports rose to 410,000 barrels per day (bpd) in November, the highest since the agency began collecting data four decades ago. That figure eclipsed the 408,000 bpd exported the previous month, which in itself was a big jump from the 270,000 bpd that had been exported on average in the previous months of 2013. And some analysts said the high exports have been more or less maintained throughout December and January. Energy consultants RBN Energy, citing fellow consultants IHS Waterborne Energy, said exports barely dipped below the 400,000 bpd mark in the past two months and, according to their chart, have stayed above the 375,000 bpd mark. U.S. propane production has risen hand-in-hand with the shale oil and gas boom. That led to healthy domestic supplies and encouraged exports as prices at home fell relative to the rest of the world. February Saudi Arabian propane prices, a benchmark against which Middle Eastern sales to Asia are priced, were set at $970 a tonne, an industry source said, translating that to around $1.86 a gallon. That is higher than the $1.51 that a Mont Belvieu barrel would fetch in the same month. While Moniz did not refer to exports, other politicians have noted the high level of sales abroad and said the issue might impact their deliberations on whether to allow the export of U.S. crude oil, a critical energy policy issue for 2014. Americans Scramble for Propane Amid High Prices and Bitter Cold

By JAN. 22, 2014 As a second arctic blast barreled through most of the Midwest and Northeast this week, Americans who use propane to heat their homes are scrambling to deal with sharply higher prices and a limited access to the fuel. Distribution problems have left swaths of the rural Midwest vulnerable to the cold, and governors in states from New Mexico to Maine have issued decrees to hasten propane delivery. In central Ohio, the Morrow County emergency management director, Joe Edwards, said supplies of the propane, which is used by at least one-third of families in the county, were “dangerously low.” Mr. Edwards said he was working with the Red Cross to make sure shelters were available, though he had not yet received calls from families who had run out. Distributors and analysts say the problem is twofold: a sharp increase in exports of the propane that has led to a spike in price, and substantially higher use of the fuel to dry grain that came in too wet to store that has made it hard to keep up with demand. Jeff Petrash, the general counsel for the National Propane Gas Association, said that while “there is plenty of supply of propane,” the difficulty was getting that supply where it needed to be. About seven million homes, mostly in rural areas that are not served by a gas pipeline, use propane for heat. Domestic production has increased to an estimated 17.8 billion gallons in 2013, from 15.2 billion gallons in 2008, Mr. Petrash said. But offsetting the increased production is a robust export market, he said. The country exported an estimated 4.3 billon gallons of propane last year, compared to 800 million gallons in 2008. Propane distributors like David Randall, the general manager for Apollo Propane, which serves thousands of customers in southwest Ohio, said the tighter supply has led to wholesale price increases, to $2.20 a gallon from $1.10 a gallon a year ago. Prices for his customers, he said, have risen to nearly $3 a gallon from $1.90 a year ago. While most customers are still able to heat their homes, Mr. Randall said, “Some will have trouble paying the bill.” Joseph Draeger, who has owned Draeger Propane in Antigo, Wis., for 20 years, said he was shocked by the price increases. “There are going to be a lot of frozen homes here shortly,” Mr. Draeger said. “It’s the single parent, it’s the older people that just don’t have that type of income.” In addition, much of the fall corn crop was harvested while wet, forcing farmers and elevators to burn propane to dry their crops, further squeezing supplies. In response to the squeeze, federal and state regulators, hoping to quicken deliveries, have waived rules that govern how long delivery drivers can be on the road. But many distributors said those efforts were insufficient and that they were filling customers’ tanks halfway and sending drivers to terminals in faraway states to wait in lines for as long as 10 to 15 hours. “Ultimately, we’ll have to make more trips, and the gas is costing folks a lot more than they used to pay,” Mr. Randall said. Mr. Draeger was critical of the increase in American propane exports. “That blows my mind that we have no product here and these homes are about to freeze up and they are allowing exports,” he said. One solution in the Northeast is the import of propane to supplement domestic supplies. Joseph Rose, the president of the Propane Gas Association of New England, said New England distributors were getting shipments from Europe and Africa and blending that with domestic supplies in an effort to keep prices from rising too sharply. Some consumers may have been able to mitigate these costs by buying propane in advance or signing up for a fixed price rate earlier in the year, others are being hit hard by the increases, said John Foster, the president of Blue Flame Propane in Richmond, Michigan. “There’s kind of the haves and have-nots in this propane business.” “There’s people out there who are buying at $1.79 and have no idea that’s an issue,” Mr. Foster said. “They may get a little sticker shock when their gallons run out.”
Matthew L. Wald and Jess Bidgood contributed reporting.

Propane boom pits U.S. exports against home heat

lng_ship
By Bloomberg News

HOUSTON — Midwest propane prices are higher than those on the Gulf Coast for the first time in three years as domestic demand competes with exports for supply. The benchmark price in Kansas averaged 1.4 cents a gallon more than the Texas equivalent this month, the first premium since November 2010. Midwest stockpiles are the lowest for this time of year since 1996, curbing supply in a region that uses more of the fuel to heat homes than anywhere else in the U.S. The country is shipping record levels of propane and propylene abroad, helping improve margins for producers while raising costs for farmers to dry their crops in an area that produces 32 percent of the world’s corn. Prices jumped 51 percent in the past year, illustrating a side effect of exports as shale drilling boosted production of natural gas liquids such as propane, as well as natural gas, to all-time highs. “The demand for exports is pulling barrels to the coast and away from traditional U.S. markets,” said Anne Keller, manager of natural gas liquids research at Wood Mackenzie, an energy consulting company in Houston. “Our own residential market is bidding against markets somewhere else in world for these barrels.” Propane in Conway, Kansas, was 3 cents a gallon higher than in Mont Belvieu, Texas, on Nov. 7, the most since Feb. 16, 2010, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Conway and Mont Belvieu are the two largest storage hubs for the fuel in the U.S. Propane at Conway sold at an average discount of 18.9 cents to Mont Belvieu in 2012. The price fell 2.5 cents to $1.1925 a gallon on Nov. 15 in Conway, or 0.75 cent more than in Texas. Midwest prices have risen as new pipelines, including DCP Midstream Partners LP’s 175,000-barrels-a-day Southern Hills system, have allowed producers to ship more natural gas liquids, including propane and butane, from the middle of the U.S. to the Gulf Coast, where export docks and most of the country’s petrochemical plants are located. NGLs, which are pumped from wells along with natural gas and separated at fractionation plants, are used as feedstock in petrochemical plants, diluent for heavy crude in pipelines and gasoline blending. Oneok Inc. expects the expansion of its Sterling pipeline system that carries NGLs to the Gulf Coast from the Midcontinent to come online before the end of the year, Terry Spencer, the company’s president, said in a Nov. 6 conference call. Enterprise Products Partners LP and Targa Resources Partners LP were among companies that this year opened new docks on the Gulf Coast for NGL exports. The U.S. exported 294,000 barrels a day of propane and propylene in August, up 90 percent from the same month in 2012, according to the Energy Information Administration, the statistical arm of the Energy Department. Exports were a record 308,000 barrels a day in May. “In terms of exports, the EIA does not break out propylene from propane in its statistics,” said Peter Fasullo, principal at EnVantage Inc., a Houston-based energy consultant. “Virtually all of the exports are propane.” Increased shipments abroad helped reduce supplies and raise prices. The profit margin for fractionating propane in Mont Belvieu rose to 87.2 cents a barrel Nov. 15, from 57.8 cents a year earlier, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Propane production has increased 51 percent since February 2011, as drillers targeted so-called wet-gas shale plays, which are rich in NGLs, with directional drilling and hydraulic fracturing. Output was a record 1.49 million barrels a day the week ended Nov. 1, according to EIA data. Supplies in the U.S. reached a record 75.9 million barrels Oct. 5, 2012, and were at 60.8 million on Nov. 8. The supply drain has been exacerbated in states in the northern Midwest, where farmers use propane heaters to dry crops, by wet conditions and a record corn harvest. Supplies in the Midwest fell 802,000 barrels to 19.8 million in the week ended Nov. 8, down 12 percent from a year earlier and the lowest level for early November since 1996, according to EIA data. Governors of Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin declared states of emergency in late October and early November to allow propane tanker drivers to work longer hours to make extra deliveries. “Crop drying is pulling that differential higher right now,” Kelly Van Hull, manager of energy analytics at RBN Energy LLC in Denver, said by phone Nov. 11. “Once we get into the middle of December, all of that demand should be done and we should see a more typical differential.” Midwest states will produce 312 million metric tons of corn this year, nearly a third of the global crop of 963 million, according to data from the U.S. Agriculture Department. About 10 percent of homes in the Midwest use propane for heating in 2012, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. The Southeast follows with 6.9 percent, and the Pacific Coast is the lowest at 2.8 percent. Conway prices may strengthen further over the winter, as companies boost shipments of raw NGL feeds, also called y-grade, to the Gulf Coast from the Midwest, Dan Lippe, managing partner at Petral Consulting Co. in Houston, said by phone Nov. 8. Y-grade NGLs are fed into fractionators to separate the different components, such as ethane, propane, butane and natural gasoline. Companies want to fractionate on the Gulf Coast where there is more petrochemical demand for ethane, which makes up the largest portion of the NGL barrel, Lippe said. “We hardly need any ethane in Conway,” Lippe said. “No matter how cold it is, that volume of propane contained within the raw mix moves to Mont Belvieu. The premiums have the potential to get stronger over the course of the winter.” In the long term, U.S. prices will stay low enough to encourage more exports, Van Hull said, with supply going beyond South America to China and elsewhere in Asia. “By 2018, you’re probably looking at about 500,000 barrels a day of propane being exported,” Van Hull said. Enterprise is expanding its NGL export capacity and has signed multiyear supply agreements with overseas buyers such as TonenGeneral Sekiyu KK, a Tokyo-based refining and petrochemical company. Foreign demand means U.S. homes that heat with propane won’t see a repeat of last winter, when prices in the Midwest fell by 21 percent from the prior year. The EIA is forecasting that Midwest families who heat homes with propane will spend an average of $136 more this winter. “If demand is really strong in markets outside the U.S., we could end up with pull between our obligations to supply export markets and U.S. demand, and really that falls on the backs of U.S. residential and commercial buyers,” Keller said.
